The first flight of balloons for the 5th Annual Red Rock Balloonfest is set to take place Friday evening.

Balloonfest Committee Member and Pilot Jason Hartson will fly for the first time in his three years involved with the event. Hartson says he looks forward to seeing Marion County from the view over the Lake Red Rock dam. Balloon flights are scheduled for Friday and Saturday evenings, as well as Saturday and Sunday mornings.

Additional activities include:
– Friday night, July 10 will feature D.J. Keri Garrison
– Saturday, July 11 also includes a Pancake Breakfast from 7:00-10:00am on North Overlook Beach, plus the annual 5K & 10K FUNdraiser Cross-Country Run.
– Saturday night, July 11 will feature the Rock Bottom Band performing live from 6:00-10:00pm at North Overlook Beach
Beer Garden and food vendors will be on hand both nights.
– “Let’s go Paddling” will be offered along the shore of the beach plus a Bird Banding activity held at the new Play-scape Park.
– The final balloon launch is scheduled for Sunday morning at 6:30am.
