An hour-plus road trip did not put the Pella High softball team’s bats to sleep on Tuesday night, as they used them to wallop Perry, 9 – 2. The Lady Dutch struck for two runs in the first, three more in the third and fourth, and an extra tally in the seventh to get the win. Pella swatted nine hits in total; Sara Tallman was 2-for-3 with three runs scored and three stolen bases, McKenna Rozenberg singled home a run, tripled, and eventually scored. Elyse Sadler earned the win on the mound, giving up two runs on seven hits with five strikeouts. Pella finishes the regular season with a mark of 18 – 13, and they will head across county to Knoxville for the regional tournament opener tomorrow night.
