While Knoxville has dealt with several areas affected by storm sewer failures in recent weeks, Knoxville Assistant City Manager Aaron Adams says they’re taking a proactive approach to dealing with the problem.

Adams says the city identified and budgeted for around 12 storm sewer repair projects around the city at $1,000 to $2,000 a piece.

However, the Larson Street storm sewer failure was unexpected and cost much more due to the depth of the project.

Adams says the city is doing what it can to identify additional trouble spots as part of their 10-year roads plan. He asks for citizens to contact city hall if they happen to notice an issue with any section of road in Knoxville so crews can investigate.
