Early morning rain threw a kink into the works on Saturday, as it forced the postponement of the two first-round district baseball games at Albia involving PCM and Pella Christian. The latter will try again on Monday to face Central Decatur. The Eagles will need to be sharp defensively against an agile Cardinals team that ranks seventh in Class 2A with 116 stolen bases. However, getting on base has been a challenge for the Cardinals, as they hit just .223 on the season. Coach Nate Johnson says if his team can come out and play like the team that’s tackled tough conference opponents down the stretch, great things can happen.
