Three juveniles were taken into custody after an early morning vehicle pursuit with speeds exceeding 90 mph came through Knoxville Monday.
Knoxville Police Chief Dan Losada says the pursuit began around 1:20am when an officer saw a vehicle driving northbound on Highway 5 with no lights on. This was in the same area the Marion County Sheriff’s Office had mentioned there was a burglary a short time earlier.
When the officer attempted to initiate a traffic stop, the vehicle took off through town at speeds in excess of 75 mph. The vehicle then headed north on Highway 14 and was stopped just outside of Newton.
The suspects are facing multiple traffic charges in Knoxville. Losada says the investigation is ongoing.
