A former Pella band teacher accused of exploiting a former student in Marion County has entered a plea for a separate case in Floyd County.

Benjamin James Thompson pled not guilty to three counts of sexual abuse in the 3rd degree on Monday. Thompson is accused of having an inappropriate relationship with a 15 year old Charles City female in 2011. A trial by jury is scheduled to begin on September 9th. Thompson also has his arraignment hearing set on Friday in Marion County District Court for three counts of sexual exploitation of a former Pella High student.
