A Des Moines man accused of passing a fraudulent check in Pella has a hearing in Marion County District Court this week.

Joseph Daniel Duff, 36, faces charges of 2nd degree theft and forgery, both class D felonies. According to court records, Duff passed a fraudulent check for more than $2400 at Leighton State Bank. Police say the check had a forged signature. He was arrested on a warrant this month, and has a preliminary hearing scheduled for Tuesday.
