There wasn’t much to celebrate for the Central women’s basketball team over the course of the 2014-15 season. In an injury-riddled year, the Dutch finished 10 – 15 overall, despite going 9 – 2 in non-conference games. That 12-game losing streak came to an end at home against a quality Luther squad, and the atmosphere in the locker room after wasn’t of relief, but of accomplishment, says head coach Chelsea Petersen. She adds that most of her athletes would not remember the 2014-15 season for the losses, but for that league win over the Norse. Petersen says it goes back to the dedication of unselfishness her Dutch possessed that will help the younger players grow. The ’15-’16 season tips off on November 14 in Illinois against Blackburn.
