A Knoxville man has pled not guilty to charges stemming from an alleged assault on his wife earlier this month.
31-year-old Jacob Ryan Lovell was charged with domestic abuse assault by impeding breathing, a Class D felony, and 3rd degree criminal mischief.
According to court documents, the victim told police Lovell dragged her out of bed by her underwear, then grabbed her neck and slammed her against the wall. A witness, who saw the victim pulled back into the house as she tried to leave, stopped the assault after seeing Lovell on top of the victim when he arrived.
Lovell also damaged the car door of the victim’s brother.
A hearing date has not been set.
