The 34th Annual Iowa High School Girls Athletic Union Softball Hall of Fame will have a local inductee this year. Former Pleasantville Softball Great Chelsea Thomas is one of four inductees in this year’s class. Thomas played for the Trojans from 2004-to-2008 and led Pleasantville to back-to-back state tournament appearances in 2007 and 2008. She was a two-time first team all-state selection and finished her high school career with over 100 victories. She went on to star at the University of Missouri earning all-American honors in three seasons. She set school records with 111 victories, 1,174 strikeouts and 11 career no-hitters. Her senior year she was the Southeastern Conference Pitcher of the Year. Thomas currently plays professionally for the U-S-S-S-A Pride. The induction ceremonies will be Friday before the class 5A state title game in Fort Dodge.
