The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is hosting outdoor activities at Lake Red Rock this weekend.
They will hold pond exploration at the North Overlook Playscape at 7 p.m. tonight. Park rangers are inviting people to a tree ID hike from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday morning at Whitebreast Campground. Participants will learn about the different trees and species along the Stu Kuyper Trail. In the afternoon at 1, “Call to the Wild,” will be about how different animals communicate. The program will allow participants to use instruments and share “messages” with other participants and see how far their “calls” carry over the Playscape.
