Many businesses in Pella are gearing up for the annual Ridiculous Day on Saturday.

Owner of Boats Home Furnishings Bryan Gaylor feels the purpose of days like these is to help bolster downtown retail, which in turn will help the community grow. This summer, Gaylor has been making tweaks at Boat’s, including of the addition of a new storefront. He purchased the nearly 80 year old furniture store from long time owners Doug Van Gorkom, Marv Roozeboom, and Harlan Van Vark in November. Most participants in Pella’s Ridiculous Day will open their doors at 7 a.m.
