The Pella City Council is in the midst of a large number of zoning changes.

Planning and Zoning Director George Wesselhoft tells KNIA/KRLS News that the summer is typically a busy development season. He says the city council passed a central business district personal improvement services amendment, which will allow those types of businesses more flexibility with their store fronts. Wesselhoft says the council is also considering a pair of amendments to a menu sign ordinance for fast food restaurants that would allow for bigger signs. At their most recent meeting, the council also approved a zoning change for Missouri River Energy Services to allow for construction of a storage facility.
