UPDATE: More than 1500 people remain without power in Knoxville as of 11 a.m.

Power went down in Knoxville at 9 a.m. this morning.
According to MidAmerican Energy, more than 3100 customers were without power as of 9:30 a.m. A representative tells KNIA/KRLS news that there is an issue with a large substation in the county, and crews are on site working to restore power. The outage is impacting traffic lights throughout Knoxville, and many businesses and homes are without power. KNIA/KRLS is in contact with officials and will provide updates throughout the morning.
