Governor Terry Branstad’s request for a disaster declaration is getting support from all of Iowa’s federal delegates.
Branstad made the request last week for a federal declaration of a major disaster as a result of flooding in 19 counties, including Marion County, in June. Marion County Secondary Roads Department’s Mike McMurray tells KNIA/KRLS News that 117 areas were in need of repair, 69 of which have already been completed at a cost of over $141,000.
He estimates the total cost of repairs will be around $200,000.
