The Knoxville City Council adopted an amendment to their golf cart ordinance Monday.

The ordinance now restricts the number of people on golf carts to however many seats are on the vehicle. Knoxville City Manager Harold Stewart anticipates that officers will now be on the lookout to enforce the new ordinance.

Police Chief Dan Losada says while there’s a possibility of citations being given to violators, he expects his officers to issue mostly warnings in an effort to educate to public.
