Staff at Pella Regional Health Center has been pleased so far with their addition of retail pharmacy services.

The hospital acquired Crown Pharmacy in February, and took over operations on March 1st. Chief of Ancillary Services Tony Linkmeyer says they’ve been able to accomplish many of the goals they set out since starting the operation.

“One of the big things we wanted to do, was recognize the missing piece of our medical home model, and that’s the coordinated effort of care,” Linkmeyer says. “And we think the pharmacy was a big part of that.”

He says they hope to continue to find ways work more closely with pharmacists and providers in order to improve health care. We have more about the transition on Let’s Talk Pella.
