Between Pella and Harvey during Severe Thunderstorm Warning

A round of severe weather struck parts of Marion County on Sunday.

The KNIA/KRLS Severe Weather Action Team was called into action at approximately 6:20 pm Sunday evening after the National Weather Service issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Marion County.

A KNIA/KRLS staff member and trained spotter called in reports from Pella and four staff members read reports live on the air and took calls from WeatherEye Meteorologists.

There were immediate reports of damage as a result of this fast-moving storm system. A trained spotter reported penny-sized hail in Pella. Little rain fell in Knoxville, and nearly 1/2 of an inch in Pella.
