The Army Corps of Engineers at Lake Red Rock will have outdoor activities for kids before school starts later this month.
They will hold Let’s Go Paddling on Friday from 3 to 5 p.m. at Roberts Creek East Ramp. Participants can enjoy the chance to experience both canoeing and kayaking in the same day. On Saturday, Park Rangers will hold Geocaching at 10 a.m. at the Playscape. Park Ranger Tracy Spry says it’s a sport that uses the GPS technology to hunt for small containers, or caches, hidden in an area.
Wed, August 12 – Kids’ Craft Day – 1:00-3:00 p.m.-Red Rock Visitor Center: Got creative kids? Bring your young artists to enjoy make-and take nature craft activities!
Programs are free of charge, and reservations are not needed. For more information, please contact the Corps office at (641) 828-7522 or (641)628-8690.
