The start of school is just weeks away and Marion County Public Health Nurse Judi Van Hulzen wants to remind parents to make sure their children’s shots are up to date.

Van Hulzen says immunizations for kindergarteners need to be completed before their first day of classes and include vaccines against measles, mumps, rubella, chicken pox, diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis, and polio.

Van Hulzen adds children ages 11 and 12 also need to have their shots up to date.

More information on immunizations is available at the Marion County Public Health website here.
