Following on the success of last year’s Knoxville Cancer Relay, the team is making some changes this year to keep the event local.

Knoxville Mayor and team member Brian Hatch says the team has chosen a new 5-mile loop route that will keep participants around the city of Knoxville for their 24-hour run. He says they decided to keep the relay nearby to allow for more local community involvement.

Last year’s relay event, which was a run across the state of Iowa, raised over $17,000 for Knoxville Coaches vs Cancer.

The 2015 Knoxville Cancer Relay will be held September 24th and 25th at Young’s Park. The relay will finish up at Ken Locke Stadium before the varsity football game against Pella.
