Shane Stewart has said he had not been very good at Knoxville in recent trips to the half-mile. Last night he and his crew must have found the formula to success as he passed Danny Lasoski on lap 21 and held on for the win while his owner and NASCAR Driver Kyle Larson watched from the pits. Stewart hung around in third place as Kerry Madsen took the lead from the start and looked like he was running away. But Lasoski passed him on lap 14 and held it until Stewart blew by on lap 21. Stewart told KNIA/KRLS Sports winning the Capitanti Classic will give his team the boost it needs going into the Nationals. Lasoski ended up second with Madsen in third place. 80 sprint cars entered the event. The scene now shifts tonight to the Southern Iowa Speedway in Oskaloosa for the Osky Challenges.
