The All-Star series having wrapped up this past Sunday, a good handful of Marion County baseball players were named to the 2015 Iowa High School Baseball Coaches’ Association All-State Team. In Class 3A, named to the first team were Kevin Woodhouse of Knoxville as a third baseman, and Grant Judkins from Pella as a utility player. Woodhouse hit .529 on the year and drove in 46 runs, all while posting a 1.90 ERA on the mound. Judkins hit .520 with 13 homers and 57 RBI, in addition to a 0.56 ERA and 112 strikeouts as a pitcher. Tanner Wood from Pella was picked to the second team as a utility player. For Class 1A, Twin Cedars’ Otis Roby was named as the “Class Captain” for his impressive play this year and throughout his career. Pleasantville Zeb Adreon and Josh Luna were each chosen to the 1A first team all-state. Roby, along with Knoxville’s Tony Salato, were also honored by being chosen to the 2015 All-State “Super Team,” comprised of some of the best-of-the-best players in the state. In all, between Knoxville, Pella, Twin Cedars, and Pleasantville, the four teams combined for 116 wins in 2015.
