The Pella City Council is moving forward with plans to expand the city’s trail system.

They approved an engineering services contract with Garden and Associates to begin planning for a 10-foot wide trail from Madison Elementary through the Pella Sports Park to Vermeer Corporation. Finance Director Corey Goodenow says the project was a big component of the city’s twenty-year plan approved last fall. He says work is scheduled to begin early in the 2016 construction season.
