Local residents are continuing to earn top honors at the 2015 Iowa State Fair.

JVM Cattle Company of Pella received the Champion Iowa Bull and Champion Iowa Female for the third year in a row in the South Devon show judged Monday.

On Tuesday, Oren Roorda of Pella won two categories of the Wood Chopping contest. Ridge McGinley of Pella advanced to the semi-final round of the 56th annual Iowa State Fair Talent Search with her Lyrical Dance.

Riya and Nolan Smith of Knoxville earned 1st place in the five year old and six year old division respectively of the Children’s Pedal Power Pull after both completed a full pull of 40 feet.

Marlyn Hoksbergen of Pella won Second Place Overall in the Dutch Oven Cooking, and took first place in the dinner divsion.

Blueprint Cattle Company of Otley showed the Reserve Grand Champion Female in the Maine-Anjou Beef Cattle show judged Saturday. Williams Cattle of Knoxville, Logan Schroeder of Pella, and Payge Edwards of Monroe also earned individual recognition.

Brenda Becker won two 1st place awards in the Corn and Soybean Creations divisions of the Farm Crops contest judged Thursday.
