U.S. Congressman Dave Loebsack was the guest speaker at a meeting with the local chapter of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees in Knoxville Tuesday.

Loesack told concerned members that they deserve to get back what they put into the system regarding their retirement benefits. He says some people in Congress are always looking to save money and see cutting benefits as a way to do so; a practice which is not acceptable to him.

Loebsack also spoke to the group about Social Security concerns and insurance costs. He said these issues will be an uphill battle with Republicans, but that he will continue to fight for their benefits.
