Last season the Knoxville Football Squad ended a near quarter century playoff drought. The Panthers are trying to make sure that it does not take another 24 years to make the postseason, in fact says Coach Eric Kellar, the playoffs are now an expectation. The Panthers return a good chunk of the offensive production from last year as Connor Bailey and Deon Snyder return in the backfield. While the Panthers did not throw the ball a lot last year, Trent Davis is the leading returning receiver as he had 14 receptions for 255 yards a year ago. Kellar adds there are three quarterbacks battling for that position, Jake Zuck, Blake McClung, and Michael Ullestad, are all doing a great job and all three have their strengths. The Panthers have a scrimmage this Friday at Pella Christian and then open their season at home against Newton on August 29th.
