The Pella City Council continued to work on zoning ordinances this week.

Finance Director Corey Goodenow says they approved a change which will allow Missouri River Energy Services to build a storage facility closer to the project site. He says there are two other ordinances that had first readings, both of which will allow for expanded development if approved.

“The first one was for a property located at 324 South Street,” Goodenow says. “And the request was to rezone the parcel from M2-Heavy Industrial to M1-Light Industrial.”

“The second item was a rezoning located at 507 and 509 Jefferson.”

Goodenow says the council also has to consider whether or not the recent zoning changes fit into the city’s comprehensive plan approved last fall.
