Despite summer rain delays, many upgrades to the Pella Community School District’s campus will be ready for the first day of class on Monday.
Superintendent Greg Ebeling says a new drop-off lane that runs from East 8th Street to Jefferson Intermediate will be ready for use.
“We won’t have the small road connected into the pool parking lot, that one won’t be ready yet, but the majority of that pick-up/drop-off lane will be,” Ebeling says.
Lincoln Elementary Principal Rich Schulte tells KNIA/KRLS News that a gravel drop-off loop will be ready for the first day of class as well. He says parents will enter along Jefferson Street on the east side of the water tower, loop to near the new building and drop kids off next to the new gym, and exit on Main Street. Schulte says the new playground will be ready early next week for students to use.
