Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal was in Pella as a part of his campaign for President.

Voters packed the 175-seat Pella Opera House Monday night to hear the Republican presidential candidate. Jindal spoke about a wide range of issues during an hour-plus speech, including illegal immigration. He feels the government should take a firm stance against illegal immigrants, which he believes threaten the country’s security.

“It only makes sense that we would let folks in here that make us a stronger country, Jindal said in his speech, “but what I say to those folks is that you need to follow the law.”

“Immigration without assimilation is not immigration, immigration without assimilation is an invasion.”

Jindal’s stop in Pella was a part of a 99-county tour that he plans to complete by the Iowa caucuses.
