With one less threat in the backfield for Pella High’s football team this year, the Little Dutch are still looking to essentially run down their opponents each week. However, their air attack was called upon a bit more last Friday than has been seen over the last few seasons. Against Washington, Pella’s QBs combined to go 11-for-19 passing for three touchdowns, which is already over 1/6 as many as the Dutch had total in 14 games in 2014. Coach Jay McKinstrey says there are still steps to take, but the first one was big for his team. Coach adds that he was very happy with how hard his Dutch performed against the Demons. The team is currently honed in on taking down the No. 2-ranked team in Class 3A, Dallas Center – Grimes, on the road tomorrow night.
