September is National Senior Center Awareness Month and Marion County Senior Nutrition Director Dawn Allspach-Kline says having a facility like the Knoxville Senior Center is a benefit to the community.

Allspach-Kline says over 19 percent of the city’s population is 65 years of age or older and now is the time to see what can be offered to them in the future.

The Knoxville Senior Center will be holding an open house on Tuesday, Sept. 15th, to showcase the different activities and programs they offer area seniors. The event begins at 5pm and the public is welcome to attend.
