Congressman Dave Loebsack was Knoxville Friday as part of his Take Your Congressman to Work tour.

Loebsack spent part of the afternoon with Marion County Sheriff Jason Sandholdt. He says the job of law enforcement officers is difficult because it’s constantly under scrutiny. Loebsack says while it’s important that police treat the population fairly, they must also be respected for the jobs that they do.

Loebsack says going on ride-a-longs helps him discover the issues officers are facing on a daily basis and allows him to learn more about the communities they serve.
