Many Hands For Haiti is gearing up for their annual Color Blast 5K later this month.

Executive Leader Tim Brand tells KNIA/KRLS News the fun run features five different stations that will cover participants in different colors. Brand says color runs are usually popular in bigger cities, but this version has really taken off in Pella. He says the event is meant to help raise funds for the Many Hands for Haiti ministry and to bring the community together in the fall.

Brand says their organization has expanded in the past year, including the opening of a second Mango Tree location in Oskaloosa and the development of a five-acre educational campus in Haiti.

“So we’ve got a new agronomy training center, a new equipping center which we do teacher training and leadership training, zero-to-five year old infant to mother feeding training,” Brand says. “And then we have a new commercial agronomy area as well.”

“It’s amazing to see the growth and the depth and level of the programs we are doing in Haiti.”

The Color Blast 5K begins at 9 a.m. on Saturday, with a $40 fee for those who sign up before the event begins.
