Before the football team steps onto the field for an intense meet-up with the No. 4-ranked team in Class 2A tomorrow, the PCM cross country squads will welcome more than a dozen schools to Monroe for a meet this afternoon. Several Pella Christian runners turned in their best outings of the season on Monday at Lynnville-Sully, and Coach Jocelyn Meinders says she hopes that confidence springboards them into today’s meet, which features the bigger schools they are accustomed to seeing. PCM also looked strong at Lynnville-Sully, and Coach Eric Karr would like to see his runners take advantage of competing on their home course. In addition to the Mustangs and Eagles, Knoxville and Twin Cedars will be in attendance, as well as Ballard, Centerville, Clarke, Colfax-Mingo, Davis County, Montezuma, West Marshall, and others. Pleasantville will not be participating in this meet, as they have Homecoming festivities. Today’s meet will start at 4:00 p.m. at Gateway Golf Course.
