With the regular season winding down, the Pella High cross country teams looked strong during their time on the Indianola middle school course on Thursday. The Lady Dutch finished second to only Ankeny Centennial with 61 points. Tess Roorda was sixth overall with a time of 20:43, Annika Pingel was next for Pella’s girls with a ninth place finish in 20:47, and Kelcey Blommers and Payton Phelps were 12th and 14th, respectively. The Little Dutch came in third with a score of 60 points, only 12 points behind the Indians, who won their home meet. Adam Sievers came in third overall, at 16:51, Nick Bernhagen finished a place behind his teammate with a 16:55 time, and Blaise Winegardner was tenth. The Dutch are next in action on Tuesday at Knoxville.
