After ringing in the New Year, the Knoxville Basketball Squads get back to the season today with a trip to Newton. The Panther girls have been stewing on a loss to Eddyville-Blakebsurg for a couple of weeks and Coach Jim Uitermarkt tells KNIA/KRLS Sports the girls are ready to get back to playing games after having a couple of weeks off. The boys are also looking for get back to playing someone in a different colored uniform in a real game setting. They had a scrimmage this week, but scrimmages do not totally create a game like situation. Coach Jeff Larson tells KNIA/KRLS Sports the Cardinals are similar to his Panthers even though they have beat some quality teams this season. The girls game is scheduled to begin at 12:30 with the boys at around two this afternoon.
