A New Sharon woman died in a car crash on New Year’s Eve in rural Mahaska County.

The Iowa State Patrol reports Susan Elaine Durian, 55, was driving westbound on 215th and failed to stop at a crossing over Oxford Avenue at approximately 1:30 p.m. A semi driven by Jeremy Alan Diers, 33, of Sully, struck the Chevrolet Blazer. Durian died as a result of her injuries. The accident remains under investigation.
