An Albia man was sentenced Monday for deceiving a Bussey woman for the purpose of having sex with her.
Michael Kelso-Christy, 21, of Albia was found guilty of 2nd degree burglary with sexual motivation enhancement, a class C felony. According to court records, Kelso-Christy impersonated an acquaintance of the victim on social media and tricked her into having sex with him. Marion County Attorney Ed Bull tells KNIA/KRLS News Kelso-Christy was sentenced to ten years in prison and will be required to register as a sex offender. Bull adds, “ I am hopeful that this result provides some closure for the victim. She demonstrated tremendous poise, grace and courage throughout this case. I wish to thank Detective Reed Kious of the Marion County Sheriff’s Office for his work on this case, as well as the Albia Police Department who assisted us on the day of the defendant’s arrest.”
