After a pair of tough conference losses, the Pella Christian boys earned a much needed road victory Thursday against North Polk 76-57 as heard live on 92.1 KRLS.
The Eagles played one of their best defensive games of the season, forcing 16 Comets’ turnovers, 11 of which came in the first half.
Head Coach Larry Hessing says it was the aggressive play by his guards that at times stifled the North Polk offense.
In a game in which Pella Christian shot over 60 percent from the field, they were led by their two top scorers on the season. Guards Mitch Fopma and Levi Jungling cashed in 24 and 23 points respectively, with each knocking down four shots from beyond the arc.
Post Jeremy Van Beek continued his impressive week, scoring eight, collecting six rebound, and creating three steals.
The 6-2 Eagles boys are off for the weekend before hosting Grinnell on Tuesday.
