Coming off a weekend loss to the Chargers of Chariton, both boys and girls Pleasantville Trojan basketball teams resume play tonight against the Warhawks of Southeast Warren in a girl/boy doubleheader.

The girls have lost five games in a row, but the competition they have played is fierce. In this five game stretch, the teams the Trojans have competed against have a combined seven losses, with Chariton holding four of those. The Warhawks are currently 4-8 on the season, and much like the Trojans you can’t hold their losing record against them. Pleasantville Head Coach Aaron Fichter said that he knows that this will be a tough challenge for his team. The Trojan boys will have an opportunity to keep pace with the top teams of the pride of iowa conference. The 6-3 squad continually gets solid performances from junior point guard Brady Elder who is averaging 23 points per game, but it will not be scoring the basketball that will trouble the Trojans tonight, it will be defending the three point shot. The Warhawks have attempted 240 treys this season, nearly 100 more than the Trojans. Both games can be heard live on KNIAKRLS.com via the KNIA3 stream, with the pregame starting at 5:45 and tip off at 6.
