Tony and Irene Schultz want to make sure that Shirley Carter isn’t forgotten.

Carter was found murdered in her home in rural western Marion County in June 2015. While criminal charges haven’t been forthcoming, a wrongful death civil suit has been filed by the Carter family against the youngest son Jason Carter, alleging he was the perpetrator. Irene Schultz tells KNIA/KRLS News the rally has been organized by friends and neighbors who want justice for Shirley. Shultz says the event isn’t a protest, just a peaceful time to remember the caring, loving woman Shirley was. Pastor Brent Hanna will lead those present in prayer. The rally begins at 3:00pm Friday on the west Courthouse lawn.
