Despite falling behind by as many as eight points in the fourth quarter the PCM Mustangs girls basketball squad came roaring back and would come away with a victory 41-40.
Down by four points with 1 minute left, junior point guard Jayce Vos would score 4 straight points to tie the game. PCM had the final possession which saw junior forward Rachel Stafford drive forward and get fouled and make one of two from the charity stripe and give PCM the win. Vos would lead the Mustangs in scoring with 14, and the win brings the Lady Mustangs to 9-6.
The boys survived the hot outside shooting from the Norseman, 13 triples were made in total from four Roland-Story shooters, and would take home a victory and a season sweep of the Norseman 67-55. The Norseman would use a 9-0 run on three shots from beyond the arc to take a lead early in the 3rd, but PCM would reclaim the lead on a Logan Gilman putback layup and never look back. Luke Greiner would have a double-double in the first half and ended up with 16 points, while Logan Gilman lead the team hitting his season average at 21 points. PCM Head Coach Fred Lorenson said that this game is a perfect example of how his team needs to play late in games. The Mustangs improve to 9-5, and both squads will hit the court on Thursday against Fairfield.
