Electric Improvements

The Pella City Council met Tuesday to discuss a utility agreement with the city of Cedar Falls.

This agreement would connect Pella to Missouri River Energy Services which will allow the Red Rock Hydroelectric plant to connect to Pella’s distribution and transmission system. As a result, Pella’s west substation would then be plugged into the nation’s electric grid.

City Administrator Mike Nardini told KNIA/KRLS the reason Cedar Falls was involved was because the city is Pella’s agent and oversees the midwest transmission system.

The Red Rock Hydroelectric Plant should be complete in 2018. We have more with Nardini about the latest city affairs on Let’s Talk Pella.
