The Pella City Council is in the final stages of planning for major road repairs along a main corridor set to begin this summer.

The city council scheduled a February 2nd public hearing for the $2.5 million Oskaloosa Street reconstruction project at their meeting this week.

City Administrator Mike Nardini says at that hearing they will review bids gathered by the Iowa DOT and hope to approve a contract.

Construction is expected to begin after Tulip Time this year, and work will be completed in phases from East 16th Street to Prairie Street.

Additional public meetings will be held this spring to inform the public about the plans.
