Presidential Candidate Donald Trump spoke to a crowd of more than 500 in Douwstra Auditorium and hundreds of others in the Graham Conference Center Saturday.
The Republican was introduced by Senator Chuck Grassley, who repeated Trump’s campaign slogan and talked about the importance of the Iowa Caucus as many waited for the business mogul.
“We have had this trend going this way, away from the basic principles that established our government, and so we have an opportunity, once again, to make America great again,” the Senator said.
Trump discussed eminent domain, his opponents, especially Senator Ted Cruz, and his dislike of many media outlets for what he calls unfair coverage.
Trump also endorsed Pella Windows, claiming he purchases the product in his real estate dealings.
A line formed near Central Hall at noon, and many waited outside for hours before Trump’s arrival.
