Activity on bills has been quiet in the first few weeks of the Iowa Legislative Session according to one local legislator.
State Representative Guy Vander Linden says fewer bills have been considered than at this point last year. He still expects a considerable amount of debate with school funding, and says the house will likely set their target for the state supplemental aid increase at two percent.
Vander Linden says it’s all the state can afford due to declining revenues, even if that number is lower than what the Governor proposed in his annual budget.
