With one perfect, and one nearly-perfect run through the Little Hawkeye Conference so far, the Pella High girls’ and boys’ basketball teams welcome Grinnell into town for another doubleheader.

The eighth-ranked Lady Dutch, much like their tilt with the Tigers last year, found themselves down by double digits at one point before storming back to win in early December by five. Grinnell, led by Sienna Durr and a bevy of other consistent scorers, dropped just their second league game on Friday in a loss to Norwalk. Pella’s boys have put together five straight, and also had to survive a late push by the Tigers to grab the win. The Little Dutch know who can score the rock for Grinnell, so instead of looking at the team as a whole, Coach Mark Core says they’re more focused on the next play or the next possession.
