The Knoxville Coaches vs. Cancer Fundraising tally is now at approximately $75,000.
Coach Jim Uitermarkt tells KNIA/KRLS pledges are still coming in. Some previously unreported totals from Saturday are the auction raised $14,000, $1,650 was donated by the booster club from concessions, $7,000 was received in new individual donations, the quilt raffle raised $900, and the 46 second challenge raised $912.
Hy-Vee raised $1,350 from its Thursday night specials, and $400 in tips to the football players at one Hy-Vee event was donated.
Co-organizers Jim and Angie Uitermarkt would like to thank the Knoxville School District and the Knoxville community for their national leading support of Coaches vs Cancer.
“We hope the event itself gives hope to those affected by cancer and shows them that we are all in this fight beside them, and we hope the money raised will help to continue to increase the survival rates for cancer and one day help to find a cure,” the Uitermarkts said.
The eight year total now stands at over $350,000.
