Playing the first of their last two home games of the season, the Central women’s and men’s basketball teams host Buena Vista to being their second-to-last week of action this evening. Central’s women led most of the first half against Simpson before faltering late to drop to 1 – 9 in Iowa Conference play. The Dutch, and Coach Chelsea Petersen, are hoping for a better effort this time around against the Beavers; Central was pounded 99 – 45 in their first meeting in Storm Lake a few weeks ago. Central’s men fell in overtime on a buzzer-beating three from BV’s Nick Clark back on January 23. The Dutch could have moved into second place if they toppled Simpson on Saturday, but a late charge by the Storm allowed them to pull away late. Tonight’s doubleheader inside of P.H. Kuyper is set to tip-off at 6:00 p.m.
